I keep thinking that as each day goes on it will get easier and easier. Dealing with the pain, dealing with the fact that we might not get to bring Lincoln home, thinking I might not ever get to rock him in a chair and read him a story but I think each day gets harder and harder. So yesterday while I was watching tv I had this thought hit me so I turned off the tv and said Lincoln lets read a book! I sat in the rocking chair and cradled my belly as much as I could and read him Mary had a little lamb and Are you my Mother? I don't think he could understand the story because I was crying like crazy! I never thought how much I take for granted the little things I get to do with my girls. I get to tuck them into bed every night and read them the scriptures and teach them how to say a prayer.
I was just reading a story about a family who lost their baby at 35 weeks, they donate their time and materials and make caskets to families in need. They had a video that was done from NILMDTS and at the end it had this quote..and I LOVE IT!!!! "God, I could not hold him in my arms and tell him about you, please hold him in your arms and tell him about me"
What a thoughtful Mother you are! Lincoln and your sweet little girls are so lucky to have you as a Mother. I love that quote...

ReplyDeleteDear Angel Baby,
ReplyDeleteTucked inside my Mother’s Day card
I received your very first picture
It’s not a moment that you will remember,
But for those who love you, it will last forever.
I chuckled as I looked and could see your little nose
How I had wished I could count fingers and toes
On the day of the news, your big sister called
She said “Gramma, I’m having a brother”, after all.
Something told me then how special you must be
Two big sisters excited as can be.
Mommy and Daddy, thrilled with the news
A little boy, to dress up in blue.
God stamped you “perfect”
Special delivery, HE said
One day you’ll return to me
Sealed with a kiss
You see, there’s a family
I’ve chosen just for you
A home where Faith,
Love and Hope blooms.
You will be a beacon of light
A ray of sunshine to brighten their lives
You will remind them God answers
A prayer, the miracle is…I’ve sent you there
Dear Angel baby,
Sent from Heaven above
Surely, you will teach us
Much more about love
I thank God for the little Angel in blue
Stamped “Perfect”
Heavenly sent to you.
With Love, Gramma K

Thanks mom for the beautiful poem! I LOVE it! He really is perfect and has taught us so much already about love!
ReplyDeleteWow, that quote made me cry. :) I'm sure Lincoln could understand your love even if he couldn't understand all the words while you were reading. Love you!

ReplyDeleteThat quote made my tear up too. It reminded of a song that is sung by a religious Swedish singer that I learned to love on my mission. The CD I have of hers is all about children or children songs and there is one song called "I will always love". I listened to it the other day and cried during the whole song thinking of you and Lincoln. It is about a mother who has lost a child and she is singing to him. Roughly translated it says - " I believe you found an open door to a room with angels. They teach you to play and watch you smile, oh if I could be there too. No one is as beautiful as you, for you wear the clothing of heaven now. I pray tonight that you ask two angels to bring your light down to me in my dreams. It is you I love, and someday the silence will give way for song. I will always love you and never forget. And someday the tears will give way for song. Then will my tongue receive new power to sing that never was a child given life in vain."
ReplyDeleteTina I love it! Thanks so much for sharing!
